Features of the printed chart.
The Meteor2000D generates a printed chart full of information on the barometric pressure and its variation with time. At every hour, the instrument prints the atmospheric pressure in mB with a resolution of 0.1mB, the gradient of the atmospheric pressure in mB/hour to 0.01 mB/hour resolution, and a graphical barometric trace with a resolution of 1mB.
At midnight, a table of statistical data is printed, comprising the maximum, minimum and average pressures over the past 24 hours, the variance of the pressure in sq.mB which is a measure of the changeability of the weather, and the end slope over the past 4 hours which indicates the weather trend.
Additionally, if any button is pressed during the running of the instrument, a forecast is printed, derived from the magnitude and slope of the pressure.

The Meteor2000D is an intelligent electronic barograph with a host of features to provide the ultimate in precise barometry and weather observation and forecasting. Based on its proven cousin, the Meteor2000A, this version provides readability to 0.1mB and precision accuracy and stability to match.
Both on the display and on the printed trace, the Meteor2000D provides the pressure to 0.1mB and the rate of change of the pressure to 0.01mB/hour. At a glance, the user can read both the current pressure and the all-important trend of the pressure both to high accuracy.
If any of the buttons on the front panel are pressed during normal operation, the Meteor2000D prints an instantaneous forecast, calculated from the pressure magnitude and gradient over the past 40 minutes. The forecast obtained has been tested exhaustively and has been shown to be a very accurate local forecast for the 2-4 hour period following its generation. The forecast which resolves between 26 possibilities is generated by an algorithm explained in an article in our knowledgebase.
The Meteor2000D is an outstanding development in the Meteor2000 series. Where the greatest precision in a barometer is needed, where trends in pressure are important and the tracking features of an accurate barograph are essential and where local forecasting is needed, the Meteor2000D will fit the bill very well indeed. Where computer interfacing via a USB port is needed the Meteor2000WX is recommended.
THE FORECASTING POTENTIAL OF THE METEOR2000D
The welter of forecasts available on the Internet and elsewhere have one great disadvantage,
they never apply to a very local circumstance. In any particular place, the immediate weather prospects
depend upon the exact position of the isobars relative to that place and their movement over it. This means that for
accurate local short range forecasting, on-the spot measurement of pressure and pressure gradient are indispensable.
